Heels ...... or NOT ??

What to wear .... Should women really compromise their health for the sake of looking good!!!! honestly even I do it sometimes :P
First a splash of history high heels were depicted in temples of ancient Egypt . They were worn by both males and females of the high class.

Now lets talk about heels from the fashion point of view.. well the main reason for wearing heels is adding length :P. Making your legs look longer. Enhancing the female curves because it plays with the posture. As a result it will add confidence to every woman.
But what is the price behind this great image ?? Where is the catch?
Let's start from the bottom. Your feet suffer from high heels a lot. Well to begin your body weight will be concentrated on the front part of your feet .
Imagine THAT !!!! 60-70 kilos concentrated on the base of your toes ..... That is alot .. And just to make u feel it properly try to walk around barefooted on your toes just like the photo you will really feel the pain
Next... Your knees .. When a woman wears high heels, she puts major stress on her knees to stay straight.
As seen in the picture above .. The part (C) is the normal knee posture but let's take a look on the rest of the parts (A,B,D) they are all postures while wearing high heels .. The part (D) is the worse because the knee is actually drawn backwards which will crush the cartilage in the joint and accelerate the degenerative process to cause osteoarthritis.

In other words (your knee will get older faster) 

Heading up to the back just like the knees the spine will be put in a major stress by wearing heels
As shown in the picture above the spine goes into an awkward posture in heels and the pressure increases too ... That is why women usually feel stiff in their lower back after spending a whole day walking in high heels .. In the long run women will increase the possibility of developing disc diseases

So what am I suggesting ?? Well of course I'm not saying that women shouldn't wear heels ... That would be a mojor crime :P

Here are tips on how to wear heels in  healthy way :
  • Wear soft insoles in your heels to get a little more support and cushioning for the foot and heel.
  • Only use high heels on days when you have little walking to do, and few high energy activities to get to.  Rushing around in heels can become uncomfortable very quickly.
  • Use high heels for special occasions rather than on a regular or daily basis. Using them less frequently will reduce the long term effects of high heels.
  • Walk correctly in heels. Rather than stepping with the toe first, or striking the ground with the heel and toe at the same time, step heel to toe as you would if walking in any other shoes.
