a day at St. Petersburg

so chef z is doing a training course in Tampa Florida .. taking the advantage of that we r having some fun in his free days .. and the start of our entertainment day was by the trip to St. Petersburg which is 45 minutes away from Tampa ..
our first stop was the pier .. the weather was amazing sunny with a pinch of humidity in the air ...

our little friend here was waiting for his lunch to appear :P

the water was soooo clear u can see the golden sand beneath
so we had to walk all this way to get into the center where a lot of shops and restaurants located
after shopping for souvenirs in the center we were off to walk in the parks beside the place
since that we were in USA we HAD to try out the American hotdog while walking

next stop was the fine arts museum ... unfortunately it's not allowed to take photos there so i took this photo from the web
that museum contained a lot of artistic items from different cultures in the world
next stop LUNCH :) we had lunch at cassis wich is an American restaurant  and bakery
the atmosphere was relaxing alot of natural light into the place classical soft music in the background

our starters were squash soup and steamed muscles they were creamy and delicious ... chef z admired the great taste and texture

the main dish was The steak frites entree.. the meat was tender full of flavor and the herb butter melted with the perfect flavor on the steak
and what is a fancy meal without dessert!!! chocolate nuts bread pudding topped with freshly made vanilla sauce and a mini scope of ice cream .... yummy
after that great food experience we were all set to our next stop "the Dali museum"
honestly we didn't really know what is the museum about .. it is located beside the pier so you can see a park from a side and the sea from the other .. Salvador Dali is well known artist .. either me nor chef z are into art so we did not really get the paintings but we knew this one
after getting out from the museum you get into the garden where there are three things to see
first the wish tree
when you come closer to it you see that all the wishes are written on the wrist bands given to the visitors of the museum
second the MAZE
enter the door and you are into a 5-10 min walking maze journey that actually has a dead end !!! then you head back to get out from the beginning door :).
and the last and major attraction was the MUSTACHE!!!! Dali was also known for his mustache so they had to point it out in the museum
just for the record this is Mr. Salvador Dali
the only souvenir we took was 2 refreshing bottles of water :P
and we ended our journey by the stunning view just outside the museum

it was a great day :)
